Yangon, Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda

30 Sep

Invited by Khan and his pupil Michael from a big orphanage to visit this pagoda site with houses 76 monastries. Khan, a literature student works here a a volounteer and teaches the orphans english. It’s an orphanage just out of town with 1500 kids. 75% due to the big tsunami a few years ago, 25% from the civil war.

He showed us the monastry where the riots started in the 80ties. Michael hung out with all the kids and had a good time.

Another amazing experience after just 1 day in Myanmar.
